Promising News

I heard some promising news today and yesterday.  Should know more next week!  Trying not to get hopes up, which this time last year led to serious heartache.

Please send good vibes my way, dear hearts.  I feel as if I'm waiting for life to begin.

Things are a-brewing, they are.

A recent confluence of events has oddly pointed a big huge arrow to Chicago.  I don't know if it will work out.  If it doesn't, it will be the cruelest joke of the universe ever.  But if it does work out, it could be fabulous.  We'll see.  Right now, I'm curious what will be found behind door number 1, door number 2 and door number 3.  That's all.  Not optimistic, not pessimistic, just curious.  And hopeful.

Beyond that, I'm really excited to see two of my favorite kids this weekend.  I jokingly refer to them as my mother's "fake grandchildren."  They are her best friend's grandchildren and they visit her for a week each summer, no doubt providing the grandparent experience she is missing due to the childless states of my brother and me.  I've invented a sort of Eloise at the Plaza scenario in which the three of them will take the train into Chicago, meeting me at my hotel.  We'll do some fun things about town, spend the night in a cool hotel and then do more fun things about town the next day.  I hope they have as much fun as I think I will.
