in a good way.
And so does this . . . Rudy has produced great spin on his using taxpayer money, funneled through other New York City department accounts, to pay for security while he cheated with his mistress:

A Little Legal Laugh and other Tidbits
I found this post, by Galveston County Judge Susan Criss, well worth a giggle. Maybe this is what Paul Harvey means by "the rest of the story." Via Susan at Kiss My Big Blue Butt (worth a look as well).
In other news, do you know these 100 words? Via Kottke.
Finally, a nominee for most annoying homeowner occurrence: Yesterday, the locksmith company tells you they will be at your house at 7am today. Today (at 8am), they tell you their locksmiths don't begin work until 8am and that yours is on another job, but will be at your house soon. Sleep is precious to me. I do not give it up willingly. I was awake at 5am today because I knew I had to be up and ready for the day when the locksmith arrived and was afraid if I went back to sleep, I would miss the appointment. I canceled and will call a company that doesn't lie tomorrow. ARGH.
UPDATE: If you click here, you will see that even people in Asia are wondering "how Bush won." This search brought the searcher to my blog.
Happy Friday, people! And eat your bananas.

An interesting experiment . . .
I'm following the guidance of Bob Greene, Oprah's trainer, in my efforts to become more healthy this year. His advice for the first month (at least) mainly involves exercising more, but includes small food tweaks like having multiple small meals and abstaining from alcohol. Greene says the calories in the alcohol and its effect on food choices is something to be avoided, at least in the early stages of his plan.
This was my first week on the plan and I did well with all of the food tweaking, but terribly on the exercise side (meaning I did not exercise at all). I successfully avoided alcohol all week, which was a big deal for me because I customarily have a glass of wine at night to help me transition from "high speed" mode to sleep mode. I felt good all week and didn't miss the alcohol at all. But for some reason, I decided to have a glass of wine last night. I didn't have much, but this morning I feel as if a truck hit me. WHY?!?!? If someone is trying to tell me to listen to Bob Greene and not take breaks from his advice, I have received the message, believe me!
Off to get breakfast . . . hoping it works where Tylenol has failed . . .

But first, on a more festive note, how many of you have seen this hilarious "My d--- in a box" video from SNL, featuring the newly-single Justin Timberlake?
If you enjoyed that, you'll love this chick rejoinder, "Box in a Box":
